Nezha (哪吒) is a protection deity in Chinese Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism, and Chinese folk religion.Nezha is the third child of Li Jing and his wife, Lady Yin.
Unlike ordinary children, his birth was extraordinary. Lady Yin carried him for three years and six months before giving birth to a glowing orb of light. When Li Jing cut open the orb, a beautiful, spirited child appeared — this was Nezha, the reincarnation of a divine spirit, destined for greatness.
Under the guidance of his master, Taiyi Zhenren, Nezha learned unparalleled skills. With the Wind Fire Wheels allowing him to move as swiftly as the wind, and his powerful weapons such as the Universe Ring (Qiankun Quan) and the Red Armillary Sash (Huntian Ling), he became an unstoppable force.
When the East Sea Dragon King, Ao Guang, wreaked havoc by sending his Yaksha and Dragon Prince Ao Bing to harm the people, Nezha fought back, defeating both of them and even extracting the dragon's tendons. Furious, the Dragon King retaliated by summoning storms to flood Chen Tang Pass, targeting Nezha’s father. To protect his family, Nezha sacrificed himself by disemboweling his body and returning his bones to his parents.
Later, with the help of Taiyi Zhenren, Nezha was reborn using the power of lotus flowers. With his new divine body, he returned stronger, stormed the Dragon Palace, captured the Dragon King, and restored peace to the four seas.
