Smaller than many of the park’s other predators, the Dilophosaurus initially appears curious and playful rather than threatening.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe film’s Dilophosaurus features mottled green skin, two prominent crests, and a broad skull that gives it a distinctive raptor-like appearance. Its brightly colored neck frill unfolds and rattles like that of a frilled lizard when it prepares to attack. It can also spit venom, much like a spitting cobra, targeting its prey’s face to temporarily blind it before moving in for the attack.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNedry mistakes the creature’s curiosity for harmless behavior and tosses a stick, hoping it will chase after it. Instead, the Dilophosaurus follows him back toward the Jeep, suddenly opens its frill, and spits venom into his eyes. As Nedry struggles to reach the Jeep, the Barbasol can containing the stolen dinosaur embryos falls into the mud.
