This signature edition Yuzzum Concept Maquette Replica is part of our Star Wars Archive Collection, a continuation and expansion of our work creating authentic replicas with impeccable lineage.
ILM sculptor Judy Elkins crafted the Yuzzum concept maquette during the production of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. With hands-on access to the original film artifact and high resolution 3D scanning, our team has crafted a faithful recreation of this early concept of the fan-favorite alien species.
Elkins hand-signed each of the metal plaques for this very limited edition of just 83 pieces.
Yuzzum is one of the largest Return of the Jedi maquettes, at approximately 11 1/8″ tall (including the wood display base). Each resin maquette is 100% made in the U.S.A. and features customized faux fur from the same source used by the creature makers back in 1983. Every replica in this edition is meticulously hand painted by the artists in our New York studio, making each a unique tribute to the artistry involved behind the scenes of our favorite films!
Vintage production polaroids show the maquette originally featured a kit-bashed blaster rifle. Later 1983 images show Yuzzum empty handed and he remains that way today in the prop archives. Using vintage photos, the original model parts used in crafting that blaster have been discovered and our team referenced those when digitally recreating the blaster for this edition. Each Yuzzum Maquette Replica comes with a resin blaster and small magnets help the maquette hold it in the proper position to match those vintage photos.
Each statue in this signature edition includes a metal plaque and COA. Each is hand packed in a gloss black box with die-cut foam insert, and double-boxed for shipping.
