Shattered shell. Whispering ghost.
The climactic moment of 2029, captured in 1/4 scale
Released in theaters in 1995, "GHOST IN THE SHELL" continues to inspire tech culture around the world. From the visionary mind of director Mamoru Oshii, the iconic showdown between Motoko Kusanagi and the Arachnida comes to life in the Ultimate Premium Masterline series.
This 1/4 scale statue captures the climactic moment where Public Security Section 9’s Major Motoko Kusanagi faces off alone against the autonomous multi-legged tank known as the Arachnida. She leaps onto the silent, imposing war machine, her cybernetic body pushed past its limits by sheer will. What does it mean to be human? This unforgettable scene offers one possible answer—now frozen in time and transformed into three-dimensional form, like a moment suspended in slow motion.
Every element, from the torn thermoptic camouflage suit and exposed muscle fibers to the snapping cables, is sculpted and painted with precision. The overexertion of her body is most evident in her left arm as she strains to pry open the hatch. The tension flowing from forearm to fingertips is rendered with striking detail. Her face, caught between agony and resolve, gives form to the whisper of the "ghost" that drives her forward.
Measuring 80 cm deep, the massive Arachnida dominates the scene with overwhelming presence, its design guiding the viewer’s gaze directly toward Kusanagi like visual speed lines. Bullet scars across its armored front, a glowing camera eye on its deck, and damaged manipulator arms all convey its cold, mechanical reality.
Bring home the core themes and atmosphere of a legendary sci-fi anime. Take the dive into a world of expansive sculptural storytelling.
