1:3 JND Jean-Michel Basquiat Hyperreal Artist Statue
Departing from what we had done, the very popular movie characters, to working on a portrait of a real life artist, it was as if JND Studios was starting over from scratch. JND artists are not merely trying to imitate life. They are trying to capture and express the character.
The final output came from the decision to try to paint a picture of its own. The person is not the only subject matter. Gox, the main artist, combined different objects and pieced the puzzles together so that the collector could view a single piece of art.
In order to capture the character, Gox focused on Jean-Michel’s facial expression. He wanted a hint of disappointment on his face, imagining what he must have felt when he was trying to become a star by selling postcards, and things weren’t going his way.
JND Studios is commercially driven, but we love it when collectors respond to the messages we express in our work. Gox and KOJUN spoke extensively about trying to express the detailed emotion, and we believe you collectors will be able to see these details in different parts of this unique piece.

Most sixth scale figures come double-boxed automatically when purchased through Secret Compass! Most other dealers will slap a label right on the cardboard shipper and ship that way with no protection. Secret Compass recognizes the value in your collectible figure and we always double-box the cardboard shipper, which comes fresh out of a master case so it shows no sign of shipping before it ships to you.
Because this item still in production, we do not know the final weight or dimensions, or even how many boxes there will be. Therefore, we cannot give you an accurate quote for shipping. Actual shipping rates will be determined when the item is in stock, and will be reflected on your final invoice.
