The Witchblade is a weapon, a semisentient tool capable of great good or insurmountable evil. It is the responsibility of the women whose fates are forever scarred by its burden to decide how it will be used, a righteous gauntlet of light and hope, or a vengeful blade of darkness and wrath. Over the generations, the women who have shouldered the Witchblade's heavy burden have become changed by it, their lives either uplifted or dogged by the dangers and supernatural menaces the power of the Witchblade attracts.
