It’s not often that an actual movie set approaches us for assistance with a prop. Way back in the early days, maybe 2007, when the company was only a few years old, James Cameron’s assistant reached out to us to purchase a 1:1 Endoskull from The Terminator for an auction benefiting charity.

That was an awesome day for us, getting the opportunity to sell something to James Cameron, but to get the call to provide something for an actual movie set, we waited a long time for that call!

Alexa Selca, Executive Producer at Faceless Studios, reached out to us in September, inquiring whether we could provide a 1:1 Neuralyzer prop for their upcoming production, The Forget Me Thing. As described, “the Neuralyzer gets a hero reveal, drives the film’s main action sequence, and ultimately plays a key role in the final moments.”

We set a virtual meeting between our team and their team, including Karl Flacko (the Director), and quickly realized that this would be a fantastic opportunity to not only help a production team in the New York City area, but also to meet some fantastic people, doing great things in life.

Karl has vast experience behind a camera and has spent time with at-risk youth in NYC, in the hopes of inspiring the next generation with cinematography.

We were more than happy to help them by providing this Neuralyzer prop, which was in stock and ready to ship. I thought it would be fun for Karl to experience what our customers experience, opening a factory-sealed box, so I set up a meeting just outside New York City, and we got the opportunity to document the unboxing and Karl’s reaction.

Needless to say, it was more than what their team expected, and we were happy to deliver!

Filming began a couple of weeks later, and I was invited to Brooklyn to meet the cast and witness the production, which will take place over the next few months.

Some of the people behind the production

Some of the people involved include Alexa Selca, Executive Producer at Faceless Studios; Karl Flacko (Karl Bigby), Director and Co-Founder; and actor Malcolm A. Chavis.

Karl’s team is amazing, a talented, welcoming group whose passion for filmmaking made our Brooklyn visit truly memorable. These are just a few of the people helping bring The Forget Me Thing to life.
